The Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial 2026: A Transformative Celebration of Creative Expression

The city is poised to undergo a remarkable metamorphosis as the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial 2026 descends upon our emirate, transforming familiar landmarks and cherished public spaces into living canvases of artistic expression. This extraordinary cultural initiative brings together more than 20 artists from across the globe, each contributing immersive artworks and captivating performances that promise to elevate our collective experience of Abu Dhabi’s urban and natural landscapes.

Spanning from 23 October 2026 through 15 February 2027, the biennial unfolds across four carefully selected locations throughout Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, creating a distributed constellation of creative encounters that invites visitors to discover art in unexpected places. Rather than confining artistic expression within traditional gallery walls, this visionary initiative embraces the notion that public spaces belong to all of us, and that art enriches the everyday rhythms of our lives when integrated thoughtfully into the urban fabric.

The curation celebrates the profound relationship between artists, communities and the built environment, fostering meaningful dialogue through contemporary artistic practice. Each location has been thoughtfully selected to resonate with the surrounding landscape and heritage, ensuring that the artworks engage authentically with Abu Dhabi’s distinctive character and cultural identity.

We invite you to embark upon this immersive journey through the emirate’s most captivating spaces, to encounter works that challenge perception and ignite imagination, and to participate in the vibrant cultural conversation that defines our city’s commitment to nurturing artistic excellence and creative innovation.
