Thirty-two Emirati Experts Develop Artificial Intelligence Projects to Advance National Priorities

Participants in the National Experts Programme's Artificial Intelligence Track are cultivating innovative solutions across key sectors, with evaluation by distinguished leaders and industry figures anticipated in January 2027.
The National Experts Programme’s Artificial Intelligence Track represents a significant investment in developing homegrown technological capability, with thirty-two Emirati professionals currently engaged in creating artificial intelligence projects that address the United Arab Emirates’ most pressing sectoral challenges.
Launched in November 2025 by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the initiative endeavours to equip Emirati professionals with the sophisticated expertise required to develop artificial intelligence solutions that strengthen the nation’s competitive positioning on the global stage.
The programme integrates a comprehensive seven-module framework encompassing specialised learning, mentorship from industry pioneers, and direct practical application. Participants are working on projects that possess the potential to mature into solutions delivering sustained and meaningful impact across the economy.
Dr. Yousef Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Knowledge and Impact at the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority and a member of the NEP-AI Programme Committee, emphasised the initiative’s dual objective of empowering Emirati experts to contribute meaningfully to decision-making processes whilst translating advanced technologies into practical solutions addressing national imperatives. He underscored the programme’s distinctive emphasis on mentorship, leadership development and direct engagement with government officials and industry specialists.
The broader National Experts Programme, established in 2019, has consistently enabled participants to engage directly with government leaders, mentors and industry experts, thereby strengthening their professional capabilities. Dr. Al Hammadi stressed the critical importance of sustained investment in national talent as the United Arab Emirates rapidly expands its artificial intelligence ecosystem, encompassing global partnerships, data infrastructure and sophisticated applications.
Ahmed ElSawah, Programme Manager at the Office of Development Affairs within the Presidential Court, highlighted how the structured track supports long-term investment in Emirati talent as the nation advances its artificial intelligence infrastructure and international collaborations.
The final presentations of all developed projects are scheduled for January 2027, with evaluation to be conducted by specialised panels comprising twenty distinguished leaders, programme alumni and investors, ensuring rigorous assessment of the initiatives.
