UAE Foreign Minister Joins Trump’s Regional Leadership Summit at UN General Assembly
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan convened with Arab and Islamic leaders to discuss Middle East stability and multilateral cooperation on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly session.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, joined a significant diplomatic gathering convened by US President Donald Trump in New York, bringing together senior leaders and foreign ministers from across the Arab and Islamic world during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The distinguished assembly included His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye, President Ahmed Al-Sharaa of Syria, H.H. Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, and senior officials from Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman.
The dialogue centred upon contemporary regional developments and the evolving Middle Eastern landscape, with particular emphasis upon strengthening security architecture and advancing the collective aspirations of regional populations for sustainable development and economic advancement. Participants explored collaborative mechanisms to enhance multilateral international engagement in pursuit of enduring peace, prosperity and stability whilst addressing both regional and global challenges.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed commended President Trump’s endeavours to foster security, stability and peace throughout the Middle East, noting their substantial contribution to regional advancement. The UAE Foreign Minister reaffirmed his nation’s commitment to regional and international initiatives focused upon de-escalation and the establishment of durable peace, emphasising that such efforts must reinforce security, stability and mutual prosperity across the region.
He further highlighted the profound nature of UAE-United States strategic relations, emphasising their foundation upon enduring pillars of trust, reciprocal respect and convergent interests. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah underscored the fruitful cooperation spanning multiple critical sectors, reinforcing both nations’ development priorities and shared objectives.
The UAE delegation also included Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State; Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State; and Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador to the United States.
