UAE Government Media Office Unveils Agentic AI Guide for Enhanced Government Communication

A comprehensive framework has been launched to help federal government communication teams harness artificial intelligence responsibly, with emphasis on maintaining human oversight and institutional accountability.

The UAE Government Media Office has introduced a comprehensive Guide to Agentic AI Applications for Government Communication Teams, marking a significant advancement in the nation’s digital communications capability. The initiative was unveiled during the latest Government Communication Network meeting, held in collaboration with the New Media Academy.

The guide represents a strategic effort to strengthen the federal government communication ecosystem and ensure readiness for rapid developments in artificial intelligence technology. It provides national talent with a practical framework for leveraging emerging tools to enhance efficiency, elevate content quality, refine messaging precision and expand audience engagement.

Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, emphasised that the guide constitutes a meaningful step forward in advancing government communication practices. He highlighted how artificial intelligence offers teams innovative capabilities for understanding audiences, analysing information, developing content and delivering messages with considerably greater precision and impact.

Central to the guidance is a core principle: artificial intelligence augments rather than replaces communication professionals. “AI expands their capabilities and gives them more time to plan, create, understand audiences and develop ideas and messages that make a difference,” Al Eter stated, whilst emphasising that professional responsibility and final judgement must remain firmly in human hands.

The framework spans the entire communication workflow, encompassing research, preparation, planning, content development, visual production, media monitoring, analysis and impact measurement. It equips teams with unified, practical principles for responsible and effective AI deployment, whilst reinforcing the necessity for professional controls, human review and institutional approval before any publication.

Particular emphasis is placed on verification protocols, accuracy assurance and institutional governance requirements. The guide addresses critical considerations including prompt development, output review, accuracy verification and the mitigation of risks related to privacy, bias and misleading content. Practical applications outlined include media release preparation, message development, talking points formulation, digital content creation and visual asset production.

Complementing the guide’s launch, an intensive Agentic AI in Government Communication workshop brought together communication professionals across multiple disciplines. Participants engaged with hands-on exercises and explored practical applications within media relations, visual communication and analytical functions. A particularly innovative component involved a practical laboratory session where participants constructed an AI assistant, defining its purpose, establishing institutional tone-of-voice guidelines and implementing review verification processes.
