UAE Leads Regional Security Dialogue at GCC Directors Meeting in Riyadh

The Emirates participated in the seventh gathering of Gulf Cooperation Council security directors, advancing collaborative regional security initiatives and reviewing joint committee recommendations.

The United Arab Emirates took part in the seventh meeting of the Directors of Public Security of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, convened at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh on 7th October, 2026.

Brigadier Saeed bin Tuwair Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary for Security Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Interior, led the Emirati delegation to the significant gathering of regional security leadership.

The meeting focused on a comprehensive agenda addressing shared security priorities across the six-nation alliance. Officials deliberated upon pressing security matters of mutual concern whilst reviewing the outcomes and recommendations emerging from the GCC’s joint security committees. Discussions centred upon practical pathways to implement these collaborative findings, strengthening the institutional mechanisms through which the Council coordinates its security operations.

Beyond substantive security discussions, the assembly examined decisions reached during the 42nd meeting of the GCC Ministers of Interior, ensuring alignment across the Council’s security hierarchy. Participants also evaluated progress on key security projects and initiatives managed under the auspices of the Assistant Secretariat for Security Affairs, demonstrating the GCC’s commitment to unified regional security governance.

This regular convening of senior security officials underscores the Gulf Cooperation Council’s dedication to fostering robust inter-state coordination on matters vital to regional stability and prosperity. The seventh meeting represents another milestone in the ongoing evolution of collaborative security frameworks that continue to strengthen bonds between member nations.
