University of Dubai and AIJRF Convene Sixth Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum

A prestigious gathering of global thought leaders will explore the transformative potential of Agentic AI across media, business and society at the forthcoming international forum in November.

The University of Dubai and the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF) have announced the sixth edition of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism World Forum, to be held on 25th and 26th November 2026 at the University of Dubai. This distinguished convocation marks six years of international scholarly and professional engagement with the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

The forum will gather academics, researchers, technology luminaries, media leaders, artificial intelligence specialists, content creators and digital economy professionals under the principal theme of “Agentic AI and Digital Content Flow: Powering the Global Digital Economy and Governing AI-Driven Content”. The edition reflects the acceleration of Agentic AI technologies across multiple economic sectors and the consequent imperative for robust governance frameworks and professional standards.

Dr Eesa Mohammed Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai and member of the AIJRF Advisory Board, emphasised that the forum arrives at a transformative juncture. “We are entering a new phase that is not simply about the advancement of AI tools, but about rebuilding business models, services, and the digital economy around increasingly autonomous intelligent systems,” Dr Al Bastaki observed. He underscored that the UAE Digital Economy Strategy aspires to double the digital economy’s contribution to gross domestic product from 9.7 per cent to 19.4 per cent within a decade, with significant international investment reflecting confidence in the nation’s technological infrastructure.

Dr Mohamed Abdulzaher, Chief Executive Officer of AIJRF and President of the forum, characterised Agentic AI as representing a fundamental structural transformation rather than incremental technological advancement. The global Agentic AI market, valued at approximately USD 7.84 billion in 2025, is projected to reach USD 52.62 billion by 2030, representing a compound annual growth rate of 46.3 per cent. The Vertical AI Agents segment is anticipated to record a compound annual growth rate of approximately 62.7 per cent over the same period.

The forum will examine seven principal themes: the era of Agentic AI-driven digital economy; Agentic AI and digital content flow as new global infrastructure; innovation models redefined through autonomous intelligence; governance, ethics and regulatory frameworks; human-centred artificial intelligence; the evolving relationship between human talent and autonomous systems; and the trajectory from innovation toward sustainable impact.

A significant dimension of the forum will address the governance of AI-generated and AI-managed content, encompassing accountability, human-in-the-loop models, data protection, intellectual property, information verification, transparency and professional disclosure standards. The forum will also examine the labour market implications of Agentic AI expansion, distinguishing between functions amenable to automation and those requiring distinctly human capabilities including critical thinking, creative endeavour, ethical reasoning and strategic vision.

The forum will inaugurate the University Agentic AI Lab, an experiential initiative bringing together student teams from multiple universities through a three-stage model: Learn, Build and Compete. Participants will undertake practical instruction in designing and constructing AI agents before progressing to team-based development of prototype solutions.
