The University of Sharjah and Rubu’ Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators have established a comprehensive strategic partnership designed to strengthen their collective commitment to nurturing the next generation of accomplished leaders and innovators. The memorandum of understanding, signed by Prof. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director-General of Rubu’ Qarn, creates a framework for coordinated endeavour that transcends institutional boundaries.
Prof. Agamy underscored the University’s profound integration within society, emphasising that its influence extends far beyond its academic precincts. He acknowledged the foundational vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whose establishment of Sharjah University City created an institution embedded within the community, and praised the continued support of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah. The University currently offers 159 distinguished academic programmes, each contributing meaningfully to the development of leadership capacity and creative innovation amongst its student body.
Sheikha Jawaher expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, affirming that the partnership reflects the Ruler of Sharjah’s emphasis on community engagement. She highlighted how cooperation with the University would enhance young people’s skill development whilst creating specialised training and educational opportunities for Rubu’ Qarn members and graduates. University students will participate in the foundation’s initiatives, volunteer programmes and community projects, thereby cultivating their sense of social responsibility and entrepreneurial spirit.
Comprehensive Scope of Collaboration
The agreement encompasses an expansive range of collaborative activities, including joint scientific and applied research into leadership, innovation and talent development. The parties will establish business incubators and innovation laboratories, whilst supporting social entrepreneurship and youth ventures.
