World Governments Summit Organisation forges strategic partnership with Latvia on artificial intelligence and digital governance

The World Governments Summit Organisation has established a comprehensive partnership with Techritory, Latvia's digital transformation initiative, to advance international cooperation in emerging technologies and governmental innovation.
The World Governments Summit Organisation has formalised a strategic partnership with Techritory, an initiative of Latvia’s Electronic Communications Office, marking a significant step in strengthening international cooperation across digital transformation, artificial intelligence and digital governance.
The Memorandum of Understanding was executed by Mohamed Yousuf AlSharhan, Managing Director of the World Governments Summit Organisation, and Neils Kalniņš, Director of Techritory, in the presence of Edgars Tavars, Latvia’s Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Smart Administration and Regional Development. The accord establishes a comprehensive framework for exchanging expertise and best practices whilst fostering cooperation at international forums and developing collaborative initiatives of mutual benefit.
The partnership presents a remarkable opportunity to share Latvian and European knowledge and experience with governments participating in the World Governments Summit, thereby enriching the organisation’s global dialogue on governance innovation and technological advancement.
The agreement was formalised during the ninth edition of Techritory 2026, held in Riga under the theme “Security and Prosperity through Digitalisation and Connectivity.” The prestigious forum convened more than 600 speakers and experts representing government, industry and academia to examine emerging technologies and strengthen international partnerships in artificial intelligence, 5G and 6G networks, cybersecurity, digital identity and digital infrastructure.
Mr Tavars commended both organisations on formalising the partnership, emphasising the exceptional opportunities it creates for Latvia and the United Arab Emirates to deepen cooperation through the exchange of knowledge and practical solutions in artificial intelligence, connectivity and digital government.
Mohamed Yousuf AlSharhan underscored the World Governments Summit Organisation’s dedication to expanding international cooperation and cultivating partnerships with governments and specialised institutions engaged in shaping the future of societies. He noted that such partnerships prove instrumental in facilitating knowledge exchange, disseminating expertise and supporting international endeavours to anticipate and shape future developments.
According to Mr AlSharhan, the partnership with Latvia’s Electronic Communications Office reflects a shared resolve to advancing international dialogue and creating platforms for governments to exchange knowledge, share successful experiences and explore innovative approaches to public sector development.
Neils Kalniņš, Director of Techritory Ecosystem, characterised the agreement as a meaningful step in translating shared vision into concrete international cooperation, expressing confidence that this represents merely the beginning of a flourishing partnership.
This collaboration forms part of the World Governments Summit Organisation’s broader endeavour to expand its international network of government and institutional partners, promote knowledge exchange and advance practical cooperation on emerging technologies and the future of governance. Through its global platform, the organisation continues to convene governments, policymakers and experts to explore solutions to shared challenges and support increasingly effective and forward-thinking governments.
