Belgium to showcase sustainable innovation at WETEX 2026

The Belgian pavilion will present cutting-edge solutions in water management, clean energy and environmental technology, reinforcing ties between the UAE and Belgium.

The 28th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition will welcome Belgium’s international pavilion from 20 to 22 October 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, presenting a carefully curated selection of sustainable technologies and resource management solutions.

Four Belgian companies, supported by the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency, will showcase innovations spanning water management, clean energy generation, environmental sustainability, efficient cooling systems and digital transformation. The pavilion represents a significant opportunity to demonstrate European expertise to regional and international delegates attending the prestigious exhibition.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, emphasised the importance of the partnership: “The annual participation of Belgian companies at WETEX reflects the strong and growing ties between the UAE and Belgium, as well as the significant opportunities to expand cooperation across the water, clean energy, environmental technology, circular economy and climate technology sectors. Such cooperation serves the shared interests of both countries and supports economic growth and prosperity.”

Belgium’s Ambassador to the UAE, Rik Van Droogenbroeck, highlighted the exhibition’s role as a catalyst for international collaboration. “WETEX has become an important meeting point for Belgian and Emirati expertise, creating opportunities to turn innovation into concrete partnerships,” he noted, underscoring how the platform enables companies to present practical solutions whilst establishing direct connections with potential partners throughout the region.

The participating companies will demonstrate specialist capabilities across several key sectors. Edith Mayeux, Trade Commissioner at the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency office in the UAE, outlined their focus areas: “We’re proud to bring Walloon innovation to WETEX 2026. At the Belgian pavilion, John Cockerill, CESI Power Exchanger, Schréder and Korium Tech will showcase expertise in green hydrogen, heat exchangers, smart lighting and water treatment. Four companies, one shared ambition – driving sustainable energy and smarter infrastructure for a cleaner future.”

The exhibition serves as a vital platform for strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and exploring mutual opportunities within the sustainability and clean technology sectors, reinforcing both nations’ commitment to environmental stewardship and technological advancement.
