Da Hawaiian Hitman Retains Super Heavyweight Crown at Power Slap 25

Dayne Viernes defeated Vasilii Kamotskii by unanimous decision in a thrilling rematch at Space42 Arena, solidifying his position atop the Super Heavyweight division

The roar of a sold-out crowd at Space42 Arena reverberated through Abu Dhabi on Friday evening as Dayne “Da Hawaiian Hitman” Viernes stepped into the ring for one of the season’s most anticipated rematches. The defending Super Heavyweight champion faced Vasilii “Dumpling” Kamotskii in a contest that would prove as compelling as it was closely contested.

Viernes and Kamotskii pushed through all five rounds, each testing the resolve of the other across a full evening of competition. When the judges rendered their verdict, all three scorecards favoured the champion: 48-44, 47-45 and 47-45. The decision secured Viernes’ retention of his title, following his majority decision victory over Kamotskii at Power Slap 13 in June 2025, when the champion first claimed the Super Heavyweight crown.

In the aftermath of the contest, Viernes offered magnanimous words for his opponent, reflecting on Kamotskii as the most formidable competitor he has encountered to date. The champion acknowledged the challenger’s considerable power and spoke openly of his willingness to pursue a third encounter between the pair, should the opportunity arise.

The evening’s co-main event delivered moments of striking clarity. Dakota “The Maritime Menace” McGregor, ranked number one and a former title challenger, faced No. 3-ranked Reiley “Slap Shady” Montoya in a middleweight showdown. McGregor orchestrated a second-round knockout, a finish so decisive it prompted Frank Lamicella, Chief Executive of Power Slap, to describe it as cleanly executed as any such victory can be. Lamicella indicated that considerable promise lies ahead for McGregor’s career.

The supporting card reflected the depth of talent on display. Louis “Razor” Robinson secured victory over India’s Jujhar “Tiger” Singh by disqualification in their heavyweight contest during the second round, while Peter “The Alligator All G” Truchlik delivered a second-round knockout against Merlin “Action” Muusikus in their middleweight affair.

Lamicella spoke with evident satisfaction regarding the evening’s proceedings. The Abu Dhabi event had drawn the promotion’s largest crowd to date and achieved a sellout in record time. He confirmed the organisation’s intention to return to the UAE capital in the coming year, signalling Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a significant centre for the sport.
