Dubai CommerCity and Tencent Cloud forge transformative digital partnership

A strategic collaboration between Dubai CommerCity and Tencent Cloud will provide businesses across the emirate's leading e-commerce hub with access to advanced cloud computing and digital solutions, bolstering the region's digital economy competitiveness.

Dubai CommerCity, the MENA region’s premier free zone dedicated to e-commerce and a joint venture between Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority and Wasl Group, has established a significant partnership with Tencent Cloud to advance digital transformation across its business ecosystem.

The agreement was formalised at Tencent’s headquarters in Shenzhen during a delegation visit led by Amna Lootah, Director General of Dubai CommerCity, who signed alongside Rachel Xie, General Manager of Tencent Cloud MENA and General Manager of Operations, Channel Development and Marketing of Tencent Cloud International.

Through this collaboration, Tencent Cloud will make its comprehensive suite of products and services available to companies registered within Dubai CommerCity, enabling broader access to sophisticated cloud computing technologies and digital solutions. The partnership encompasses joint initiatives including events, exhibitions, hackathons and workshops, fostering knowledge exchange and encouraging technology adoption across the sector.

Supporting Economic Ambition

The partnership aligns seamlessly with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which envisions doubling the size of Dubai’s economy by 2033 whilst positioning the emirate amongst the world’s leading economic centres. This strategic collaboration reinforces Dubai’s commitment to enhancing digital economy competitiveness and consolidating its position as a global hub for trade and business.

Commenting on the agreement, Ms Lootah emphasised the significance of engaging with global technology leaders: “Partnering with global technology companies is key to strengthening Dubai’s digital commerce ecosystem and providing businesses with access to advanced technologies. Through our collaboration with Tencent Cloud, we aim to equip companies registered with Dubai CommerCity with digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency, support innovation and enable expansion into new markets.”

Ms Xie expressed enthusiasm for the partnership’s potential: “We are pleased to partner with Dubai CommerCity to strengthen our engagement with stakeholders across Dubai’s business ecosystem. Our collaboration will bring Tencent Cloud’s capabilities closer to DCC based companies, supporting their digital transformation and growth.”

Tencent Cloud operates a formidable global infrastructure comprising 70 availability zones across 25 regions and more than 3,200 content delivery network nodes worldwide, supported by international partnerships spanning over 80 markets. This extensive presence enables the technology provider to deliver comprehensive artificial intelligence, cloud computing, networking, data, security and digital technology solutions to organisations navigating their digital transformation journeys.
