Mohammed Al Gergawi Celebrates Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s Transformative Leadership Legacy

The Chairman of The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reflects on six decades of visionary leadership that restored confidence in the region and inspired an entire generation to achieve the extraordinary.

At the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum, Mohammed Al Gergawi, Chairman of The Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development, reflected upon the profound legacy of six decades of transformative leadership that has fundamentally reshaped the Emirates and inspired the region.

Mr Al Gergawi articulated that the greatest achievement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, extends far beyond the construction of a magnificent city. Rather, His Highness has restored people’s confidence in our region, inspired an entire generation to believe it could achieve what once seemed impossible, and established a leadership philosophy centred upon making people’s satisfaction a fundamental aspiration.

Reflecting on the philosophical foundation of this leadership, Mr Al Gergawi noted that His Highness believes a leader’s responsibility transcends mere creation for his people; it encompasses creating something transformative within them. Over these six decades, he has built a society, instilled a culture, nurtured a people and created a model that has captivated the world’s attention.

Mr Al Gergawi emphasised that His Highness has fundamentally altered perceptions of possibility itself. At a time when many viewed the region through the lens of historical perspectives and conventional limitations, His Highness possessed an unwavering belief in the people and their potential. He constructed a diversified economy founded upon trade, aviation, tourism, finance, services, technology and logistics, powered by talent, determination and openness to the world. This vision has inspired cities across the region to pursue similar aspirations.

The transformation, Mr Al Gergawi observed, has been profoundly internal as well as external. Dubai has become a destination where dreamers, talent and international enterprises converge, finding security, opportunity, respect for achievement and recognition of merit. The city embodies a culture of tolerance and dignity, where individuals from diverse religions, cultures and nationalities live with mutual respect and confidence in their collective future.

Drawing upon more than three decades of close collaboration, Mr Al Gergawi reflected upon witnessing both the decisive courage of His Highness’s leadership and the profound humanity beneath it.
