SEWA Enhances Khorfakkan's Water Infrastructure with Nahwa Expansion

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority has inaugurated comprehensive water infrastructure improvements in the Nahwa area of Khorfakkan, reinforcing service capacity and operational excellence across the region.

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority has completed a substantial infrastructure expansion in the Nahwa area of Khorfakkan, introducing an advanced pumping station, water storage facilities and an integrated distribution network designed to elevate service standards across the region. This significant development underscores SEWA’s commitment to delivering reliable and sustainable utilities to the emirate’s growing communities.

Engineer Saud Abdulaziz, Director of the Khorfakkan Department at SEWA, articulated that the completed infrastructure represents a transformative enhancement to the area’s water capabilities. The project incorporates state-of-the-art pumping systems, modern storage tanks and a sophisticated distribution network equipped with contemporary operating and monitoring technologies. These integrated components work harmoniously to optimise pumping efficiency, expand storage capacity and ensure an uninterrupted supply of water that addresses both present and anticipated future requirements across the region.

Demonstrating its forward-thinking approach to infrastructure development, SEWA has simultaneously advanced complementary electrical services to the Heritage Village development in Nahwa. The Authority has installed a 1,500 kVA electrical distribution substation and laid 1,600 metres of 11 kV high-voltage cables, establishing a robust foundation for reliable power delivery. To complement these electrical provisions, SEWA has deployed 500 metres of water network infrastructure, thoughtfully positioned to serve the Heritage Village’s facilities and ensure seamless service integration from the outset of operations.

The multifaceted project exemplifies SEWA’s strategic application of intelligent technologies to enhance operational efficiency whilst securing service sustainability across Khorfakkan. Through these coordinated infrastructure investments, the Authority reinforces its dedication to fostering development that meets the evolving needs of communities whilst maintaining the highest standards of service reliability and environmental stewardship.
