UAE Takes Historic Step with World Curling Federation Membership

The United Arab Emirates has achieved a notable milestone in its sporting development with the formal admission of the UAE Winter Sports Federation to the World Curling Federation. This prestigious membership underscores the nation’s dedication to broadening its engagement with winter disciplines and enhancing its presence on the global sporting stage.
Curling, an established Olympic and Paralympic team sport contested on ice, encompasses competitions across men’s, women’s and mixed doubles categories, alongside wheelchair events that promote inclusive participation.
Hamel Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Vice President of the UAE Winter Sports Federation, emphasised the significance of this development. The membership, he noted, reflects the Federation’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and strengthening collaborative relationships with nations worldwide. Through this affiliation, the UAE will benefit from enhanced cooperation and the exchange of expertise in winter sports development.
The Vice President outlined the strategic implications of the Federation’s new status.
